Thomas Hutchings first approached me about a finding a service dog. Thomas is a veteran of the Viet Nam war and is affected by Post-Tramatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He didn't have much experience training a dog, but was persistent. He wanted to participate in a pilot program here in northern California and a lot was riding on his success.

He and IC (short for Intensive Care!) are the perfect team. Imagine my surprise when Thomas announced he wanted to not only participate in obedience lessons, but felt he was ready for competition. These two are tearing it up in Obedience and Rally Obedience rings.

Thomas and IC were nominated in 2007 for the AKC ACE (American Canine Excellence) Award in the Service Dog category. Although they did not win the coveted award they were one of the top finalists and received a commendation for their work from AKC.
